For you, is Facebook useful or a time-waster?
Definitely both. It's useful as a way to stay in touch with my friends in other cities, and I like that you get regular updates through people's status posts - for me it creates a feeling of being part of that person's life, more so than just talking on the phone once in a blue moon or getting the occasional email that doesn't say very much. I check mine once or twice every day and spend a few minutes catching up.
On the other hand, if I'm not careful it becomes a huge time-waster; I've had to go cold-turkey on all of the Facebook games, because I found myself spending far too much time on some of them; they're horribly addictive!
