Here's an interesting video that talks about just how big Google's universe is getting.
I use a number of google products - google maps, google image search (all the time, including at work when a customer needs a picture of something), gmail, and google docs, to name a few. I've dabbled with a few more, including google earth, and for this assignment I tried a couple of variations of google maps: google transit, which worked pretty well, and a game where you have to guess the country from the satellite image. The transit map was useful - hopefully sometime soon they develop google bike paths!
I like Google Docs and use it frequently - it lets you work on a project anywhere you have internet access, share it with others, and upload any kind of file so that it's accessible. Dislikes? Not many - I wish there were more choices for formatting, and it would be nice if it didn't strip the formatting from uploaded word documents, but overall not many complaints. I sometimes use it at work, when customers have a file they can't open because it's in open office format or something else unusual - google can usually open it, and then the customer can either work on it online or save it in a usable format. Other uses? I keep an "ideas" file there for my library programs - that way, if inspiration strikes when I'm at home, I can quickly jot it down and have it be accesible next time I'm at work. Much more convenient than having post-it notes everywhere!
